Could be rheumatism...that gets worse in the cold.
Anyway...I used to take ibuprofen for swollen joints, but it upset my stomach, so I tried aromatherapy.

I found that mixing LAVENDER with a base oil or MARJORAM (but be careful with marjoram) and massage it on the swelling (although I prefer marjoram in the bath).

When I was at my worst (eating wise) I had real problems with my bones and joints and coz I wernt eating anything they became brittle. It was well painfull and I had to give up horse riding and dancing coz I injured myself so much! Its really nasty when u get like that. So what Im saying is maybe u should check your diet coz this sort of thing can be linked to lack or vitamins and stuff. I think u should take a trip to the docter though coz he/she will no best

lib - you took iboprofen? isn't that dangerous to take long term? And the oils sound good, i already have lavender

lolly - i don't think its a vitamin deficency, i always take my vits, and i have a big appetite unfortunately.

maybe it is rheumatism. i was playing basketball with my brother y'day and it hurt so badly that i had to stop.

Te earlier rheumatism is caught, the better the outlook. Got & see your doctor as soon as possible, just in case. You could take Glucosamine Sulphate as a precaution in case it's osteo.
