    uni firewalls won't allow access to any chat rooms so it'll eb that for you

    as to your problem hanhan, try installing java or updating it

    Sorry to be annoying Jim_V, but still having a problem....just downloaded Java Runtime Environment V5.0 Update 11....it's now come up with a message:

    Could not connect to [url]www.thesite.org.uk:9000[/url].

    Possible reasons include:

    - The chat server system at www.thesite.org.uk is temporarily unavailable.

    - Your computer is behind a firewall or proxy server. Please ensure that your firewall permits outgoing TCP connections to www.thesite.org.uk on port 9000.

    As I say, don't normally have any probs...is there any chance it could be your server, or is it more likely to be a problem my end? :(

    it's more likely to be a firewall at your end if it's a different computer to what you'd normally use

    and double check you're not using any peer 2 peer software that might be maxing out your upload and causing problems

    I had to miss it, went out with some friends. And in their true fashion, they only made the plans a few hours before we were supposed to be there, and told me 2 hours before. :grump: I can't complain though, it was a good night. :D

    I find the whole time difference thing sooo difficult to get my head round.. when I visited last year, I found it so difficult to believe that my friends at home were in bed on the previous day while I was out having fun! Very strange...:crazyeyes
