Hey, I'm 16 and I've applied for 3 differnt colleges in my area, unfortunately I've been rejected by all 3 and I'm not sure where to turn, what options do I have now?

My grades are half decent I'm predicted 5A's 5B's. I think I didnt get in because I didnt put any effort into the personal statement aswell as my attendance not being the best (89%).

So, I just need some advice on what I can do now to get in somewhere without waiting untill next year, thanks in advance.

    Why not stay on for 6th year? Then you could maybe try for uni after you get your A levels. You should do pretty well, as your GCSE's are lookin' pretty promisin' at the moment!

    :confused: that totally sucks. did you swear on your statement or something?

    try another in a nearby town and put more effort into your statement next time. - what course were you applying for? - i'm sure "5As and 5Bs" would cater for most further education, unless you needed specific experience / specialist qua;ifications for whatever you've applied for?!!

    That's really strange. All the colleges in my area would jump at you if you had your grades at GCSE (and they don't require a personal statement either, I find that quite strange that they required one for college!)

    How about A Levels? Going on to 6th form is always a good choice.

    haven't you applied for grammar/private schools though? Round here you'd get into college with 5A/5Bs no problem. 89% attendance is good too. Well practically anyone can into college here, but alot drop out.

    get your school careers adviser to look at your personal statement, and then contact the colleges and ask them why they turned you down...i had to apply to schools to get into year 11 and i got rejected my all of them, and then once i talked to one, they actually gave me a place...

    You must have done really badly on your personal statement not to get in with those predicted grades! Most colleges my way will let people in with D's and E's at GCSE level. What did you write??
