suspension?

BunnieBunnie Posts: 6,099 Master Poster
I have a car problem. Whenever I go over a speed bump it makes a horrible squeaky squealy noise, and I am really not sure whether it is my suspension but I cant think what else it could be.

Anyone have any ideas? and costs?

cheers :thumb:

Go to a garage. Impossible to diagnose without hearing it. :)

You're meant to slow down when you go over the bumps...

No, but bring it down here and my Dad will look at it (he will, I'd make him) while we play in the snow! :D

    tis a Corsa, I think...

I think it might be just a problem with little cars :). My car makes a bit of a creaking sound too, My dad's mondeo can fly over the speed humps and you can barely feel them tho!

hmm suspension .. the suspension in our car was making a strange knocking noise... then a few weeks later the whole front left suspension came up through the bonnet while drivin, front left of the car grinding along the ground!

sorry, thats the first thing that comes to mind when i think 'suspension' at the minute!

My car also squeks when going over bumps even when slowed right down. It's had a service so I'm not too bothered.

Just cos you've had a service doesn't mean the cars alright.

. Servicing generally just means changing the oil filter / air filter / spark plugs. most garages will check brake wear and some other obvious things.. but a service doesn't mean your car's road-worthy.

:shocking: Aiden!! You trying to scare me?!

Yeah, as Noog said, it is a corsa. I dont think it has been doing it since I bought it, but I dont have much money. How much (on average) do you think it would cost to get a vauxhall garage to take a look without doing anything?

That's what an MOT's for. And even then, if it goes through an MOT it doesn't necessarily mean your cars healthy, it just means it's not dangerous.
