scars and how to get rid of them

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
this isnt for me, i dont cut or burn, long story but basically i discovered a friend of mine did, i made him admit it to me. nobody else knows about it...i'm helping him "ween" off of it, basically he has promised me not to do it again and if he feels the urge he rings me. he's not been too bad lately (emotionally that is) as he has a g/f...

BUT...

she wants to go further with him and he's happy to, but he doesn't want her seeing his scars and assuming he's a freak. i know ppl change when they are about to cut and afterwards they're a lot more calm etc...

so basically is there anyway he can get rid of the scars more quickly?

cheers in advance

I think we should take Iraq and Iran and combine them into one country and call it Irate. All the pissed off people live in one place and get it over with

There isnt an instant way of geting rid of scars except if u use a cover up or foundation. Massaging scars and using certain creams is really affective though but u need to do it at least once a day.

hi. i've been told that massaging with various moisturisers helps, as does using a body scrub and basically exfoliating and moisturising the skin, which ive found does help a little. foundation and fake tans work if the scars are light, and ive also been told that sittin in the sun helps

Try yoyoba oil.. I think that s what it is called.. it is in Nivea Soft, but that doesnt really help, you d have to get the real oil in the pharmacy.
Just put it on the scars..
It really makes them heal a lot faster.
I tried it out on myself back when I was a cutter. (been there done that is a bit old so I ll not say it )

Good luck to your friend, he can be lucky to have such a good mate.

I didn't think you could get rid of scars, I always thought they were permanent.

Why doesn't he try talking to his g/f about it? If they're close enough to go further then surely they're close enough to tlak about sensitive issues together. I'm not saying it'll be easy or anything but I would've that it's make them closer.
