Two wireless adapters

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Ok its a long story but ill just skip to the point.

I have two wireless adapters in my pc.

What i want to know is , can i somehow tell certain programs to connect using whichever one i choose?

The main one is telling IE and firefox to use a certain one.

Cheers

If they are both route to the internet then that could be tricky.

If they route to different addresses, then you'd use routing tables to do it, but that would apply to all applications.

Otherwise you're looking at specific traffic shaping, which may need a third party app in windows.

Are you trying to access two wireless access points?

If so the guide here might help.

As for setting an individual program to do this is another thing all together.

Can you explain with a little more detail?

Sorry , i didnt give much detail.

Im using two wireless adapters connecting to the same access point.

I assumed there might be a third party app. to choose a connection for every program but im not sure.

I think I know what you are after.

A program found here, may do the trick. Used to use an old one a while back.

Also there is software called iNet Shaper I think that can also do the job.

    Hope that helps.

I'm actually in the process of doing something similar

I have 3 avaliable, decently strengthed wi-fi connections, and i either want to load balance across the 3, or, with the help of my server, bond the connections so i can max all 3 out a the same time :-).

The first is probably more do-able though.

Matt is trying to say that on say his Netgear adapter - MSN works fine it does NOT cut out and everything is dandy.

His other adapter HATES MSN and d/c all the time but loves his Games ect

He wants to know if he can get each applaction to go through either of the adapters like this...

    MSN
    >> Netgear Adapter
    >>> Router

    Games
    >> Other Adapter
    ^^^^

Another way I just thought of is bridging the connections.

Select both and create a bridge, not really what you are after but worth a shot. Used it a few times myself but not over impressed by it.
