I'm cooking for a man tonight, I want to seduce him and make a proper effort cooking from scratch. However I don't have an oven and I don't eat red meat or pork (so won't cook them)...any ideas?

Off the top of my head. Risotto, though a big plate of the same stuff can be a bit boring. Chicken poached in white wine and mushrooms.

ETA Oooo what about paella ? A seafood paella looks really proffesional and it's dead easy.

Try chicken breast glazed in bloody mary and roasted.
Bloody mary if you don't know is tomato juice, worcester sauce, vodka. Add some salt and pepper. Serve with mixed wild rice and basmati rice, add a chicken or veg stock cube for flavour.

    Simple and tastey!

That sounds nice. I don't have an oven though. The only way I can cook chicken is in the george foreman grill or fried/in a pan or wok.

that would work too but it might need an extra bit of elbow grease to cook on a grill, you can pan fry this too.

Prawns, nice big fat tiger prawns, and you need a robust, firm fish. I'd go for cod and maybe some smoked haddock maybe even a few mussels.

That Delia site is great kev.

I've decided paella is too hard for me and the ingredients are going to cost too much, so looking for something else, will pop out and the ingredients in my lunch break.

That paella recipe is insane! Delia is insane. I use her recipes for inspirarion but I'd never cook one. I'd never finish it! Actually I'd never finish shopping for the ingredients

Judging by the veg we have left it's gonna be broad bean, spinach and asparagus risotto. Might throw a bit of panchetta in the bloke's. Very green! :yum:
