But I'm not happy with what he has told me. He said I have sciatica and I've got to have a weeks strict bedrest whilst taking a combination of prozac and co-proxomal. I'm gonna be soooooo bored <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif"> <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif"> <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif">

My hubby gets sciatica & his osteopath reacons that the bedrest idea is a bit outdated, go & visit a GOOD osteopath, he/she'll get you better sooner than rest will.

What did your GP tell you the prozac was for?

Phew.

Don has Robaxin (another name for it is Methacarbamol, or is it Methocarbamol). It is an excellent muscle relaxant, I nicked some from him because I hurt my neck this morning <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif"> , much better than the pain killers!

Hope it gets better soon.

Sciatica isn't a diagnosis, it's a description <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif">
It means your sciatic nerve is giving you gyp.

it looks like he thinks it's due to muscle tension putting pressure on the nerve, and he's planning to take the tension away. He needs you to really rest, and then tell him if it has helped the problem or not.
So many people don't go back when treatment doesn't work - they think there's nothing the doctor can do. The doctor thinks he has fixed the problem. If the person goes back, and reports, the doctor then looks at the next most likely problem.

This, of course, assumes a good doctor and communicative patient.
