Info on a new BBC project
BBC Blast is a learning initiative for 13-19 year olds to encourage them to develop their creative ideas. Blast operates through workshops, collaberative projects, tour events, educational support, festivals and an online network.
In conjunction with the Serpentine and the Science Museum, Blast is launching a five-day cross-arts workshop to explore the interpretation of science themes through arts-based activity. Running from 19th - 23rd Feb, 20 young people (13 - 19 years) will get the opportunity to work with scientist/artist Christian Nold to explore the relationship between new technologies and narratives in?response to the Karen Kilimnik exhibition at the Serpentine and exhibits at the Science Museum. At the end of the week the young people?s creations will be shared in The Sackler Centre of Arts Education in the Serpentine Gallery and after that in one of the Science Museum galleries and online across the three organisation?s sites.
We are looking for young people who would be interested in taking part in this free project. Applications will be on a first-come-first-served basis and young people can get a booking form via the Blast website at www.bbc.co.uk/blast or by emailing blast@bbc.co.uk. The closing date for applications is 7th Feb.
