Havnt slept longer than 4 hours in a row for months not n it's starting to get annoying waking up 3am n not being able to sleep till 5. SPecially when I got to b up for college at 7 like 2day <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/frown.gif">.

Natural sleeping potions?

    Hi Daze.

I don't get much sleep either, but at least the sleep I get is all in one block. TheSite is to blame for my lack of sleep. lol.

My husband is on 30 - 50 tablets a day of various prescription drugs and I think that this affects his sleep patterns. He snoozes in the day time (sometimes he'll drop off to sleep ½ way through a conversation) and at night he wakes frequently, unable to get back to sleep.

I'm sure that it's a combination of drugs & pain for him.

When did it start for you? Did it coincide with a change of diet? drugs? exercise regime? stress level (very common in broken sleep patterns)?

You could try putting a couple of drops of lavender on your pillow before going to bed, but I think that maybe a better way would be to learn self hypnosis. Then if you wake & it's not time to get up yet, you could relax yourself with hypnosis & instead of bringing yourself up again, just drift on into sleep.

A qualified, experienced hypnotist would be able to help you there, or I expect there are loads of self-teach tapes on the market. It should only be used though if you know that there's no medical reason for it.

    Night night Daze, sweet dreams <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt;

Know what u mean daze, I haven't slept properly since my woman left me (we had been living together). I reckon that's just cos I hate sleeping alone.

This is a major prob, cos i am a uni student, who has not been to a lecture for weeks. Today, my mum rang, and said if i didn't start getting myself to uni, and financial support would just get dropped.

Im gonna see a doc, cos sometimes i go 2 days with no kip, and then feel shitty all week. This computer keeps me entertained to all hours, so don't be alarmed by a 5AM post!!

Hope y'all can sort your sleeping patterns out. I would read, but reading technical books for uni has put me off reading forever! Maybe this would help some of u?

All the Best (and nothing else)

Always eat when you are hungry,
Always drink when you are dry,
Always sleep when you are tired,
Don't stop breathing, or you'll die.

Basically, you should do what your body is telling you to. If your body needs to sleep, then sleep. What's more important? Your health, or a night out?

    GO TO BED

I have problems with sleep too Daze. Last year I overworked myself for about 3 months running - the last 4 weeks I averaged less than 4 hours of sleep a night. I collapsed at the end of it, but since then I can't get to sleep till I feel really knackered, though I can normally get to sleep by about 3:00 am and sleep for about 5/6 hours most nights.

I'm getting better slowly. My tactic has been just to make sure I don't push myself any more than I need to in order to feel sleepy. In other words, go to bed whenever I feel sleepy and don't overdo it, and my body's gradually returning to normal.

have you tried using lavender essential oil in a burner? or in a bath to give that mellow sleepy feeling. 2 drops on your pillow will work all night. Sleep well

I'd just thought I'd tell people this...hehe well the woman who lives next door to me just had another baby like a week ago, and the room they're in is right next to mine (my house is semi-detached) and the walls are really thin and EVERY time the baby cries I wake up like its in my room. Getting very annoying!!! Even though the baby is as cute as anything lol.

    Avada Kedavra.
