Dentists

Is anyone else scared of the dentists here? I just went today and I absolutely hate it, I always have done. Its scares me so much I just hate it! When I went today they said I have to have a filling and I'm well scared. I've had loads of dentist work done in the past I think thats why I hate it so much.
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

They don't bother me really cause I've been having orthodontic treatment for 2 years. But thankfully its over now. My cousin is also my dentist so i feel a bit more relaxed

Don't worry you'll get an injection that doesn't hurt one bit!!! Your mouth goes numb. it's all very painless. Just don't eat anything while you mouth is numb cause my mum once bit a huge chunk out of her tongue and didn't realise untit she saw blood all over her cup

Going to the dentist used to freak me so much that I found a dentist who gave intravenous valium (I kid you not). It was great, all fillings done in one go & no numbness to have to cope with. Mind you, staying on the back of the motorbike on the way home was another experience altogether. lol.

Then I couldn't afford it anymore & had to find a new dentist, he was brilliant, recommended by my mum who is even more terrified of the dentist than me. I eventually got to the point where I wasn't too bothered, but then I moved areas & he went private only!! So, I changed dentists again & went to a guy who left my jaw bruised for two weeks. Another change and I found the kindest dentist in the world but... now she's pregnant & leaving in December !! So I've got two appointments before she leaves & then I'm back to fear!!

I told her how irresponsible she was to get pregnant & explained the psychological damage she was about to cause me, but she's still leaving!!

What annoys me most about dentists is the ones who change from national health to 100% private.

Dentists are kuhl *grin* I've twice ended up with my front teeth broken. [stupid reasons]

I mean, who doens't like lying there with your mouth open staring into some light you can't really stare into...? Makes me sleepy =]

I used to love time off school too but now I'm at college, I've got free afternoons and stuff and my mum keeps making me appointments then !

I've had a filling once before and it really hurt. I've had bad experiences at the dentists before like you J9 thats why I hate it so much. The dentist I had before was horrible and once he didn't inject enough anaesthetic (sp?) it absolutely killed me! I never went again for ages. Oh well I have to go. My new dentist seems really nice so hopefully she'll be nicer too !

The dentist dosent bother me at all but my friend is totally freaked by the whole thing. She broke her dentists nose once when he gave her an aneastetic to put her to sleep. She told him that she often has funny reactions when she comes round and he soon realised what she meant when she woke up and smacked him in the face!!!

If you're just having a normal filling you won't really feel anything - if you do, tell the dentist to give you more painkillers.

I had to have some root canal work done recently (it goes a lot deeper than normal fillings). That was FUCKING PAINFUL (sorry ). It hurt more than when I broke my wrist. Lots more. Someone my mum knows said I should consider valium if it's that painful (like j9) so I might do next time.

Just a teeny bit of advice - when I changed dentists last time I was asked if I wanted a male or female dentist & I said "I don't care, as long as they are kind. And that's exactly what I got, a kind dentist & she was goooood.
