The way I lost mine was by losing weight (though I'm not calling you fat), they'll probably fade over time anyway.

BELIEVE...

yeah, i get that. Best thing to do to get rid of scars is to stab, rub and wear the skin to toughen it up cos its fully new skin after a wound, not resealed. I stab and shave it really heavily to get it worn.

Unfortunately, they are there forever, unless you have skin grafts or cosmetic surgery.

They will fade though.

Not the news you want to hear I'm sure

U dont no what stretch marks r untill u get pregnant...beleive me on this one.
U cant get rid of them once they r there but vitamin e oil is great at preventing them, and helping them fade when u have them already.

Harry, are you taking the piss outta people who self harm because it seems so. You shouldn't even suggest something like that, it's sick.

I know that the most common cause of stretch marks is weight loss. Your skin stretches the bigger you get and if you lose weight and shrink you will get stretch marks. Think of your skin as an elastic band being stretched too far and losing its elasticity.

Lolly is right in saying that you will find stretch marks a bigger problem through pregnancy. I don't think she is saying this is the only cause but it is definitely one of the factors that causes worse cases.

She is also right in saying that Vitamin E cream (Such as Palmer's Cocoa Butter) is good for preventing the problem. Its deep moisturising properties can also help to reduce them after they have appeared.

They do gradually fade, especially with regular exercise.

I was 15 stones at the end of my pregnancy and I am now 9 stones. I still have some stretch marks but they are very very faint compared to what they were at first.

Just moisturize the affected area everyday with Vitamin E cream. (U can even get Palmers Cocoa butter soap from Superdrug) and exercise to make your skin more tort.

I also have stretch marks on my thigh and on my breasts from puberty.
I find it embarrassing when Im getting it on with someone for the first time and they've never seen me with nothing on before but I know now that loads of my mates have got them so Im not so shy about it anymore.

My fiance has stretch marks and I can honestly say that it doesn't bother me. If your fear about stretch marks is what a male might say about it, don't worry.

Her stretch marks are on her hips. Apparently (before we got together 8 months ago) she was very thin, then put on quite a lot of weight and is now back down to just over 10 stone (which is apparently overweight for her age/height/build).

So, she's overweight and has stretch marks but do I care?

No scars or flab is ever going to change the way I feel about the one person I love the most.

She also has a bladder problem but I'll save that one for another thread
