Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Im someone that eats little and often. Probablly too little because im always hugry in between too. I just cant fill myself on a huge meal.
My boyfriend can eat just fruit and it fills him up and keeps him going but im hungry straight afterwards!
Even after Oatso-Simple,im hungry within an hour.

What does everybody find works for them?

Thats something i asked my fella about-because eating meat is meant to keep you fuller for longer so i figured protien tabs must do it too.
So do you take them before/after eating?

I take them after a meal. They might make you lose weight though which is probably bit dangerous if your already normal weight. They are good at supressing my appetite though.

Eat some nuts & seeds. not only are they good for you but it seems that if you have to chew something a lot it makes you less hungry. Well, does me anyway

I tend to eat little and often too, about 6 times a day i.e. breakfast, lunch, dinner with snacks in between. I tend to combine my snacks with a big glass of water, and that helps to stave off any cravings. My meals often tend to be low GI meals i.e. little/no refined carbs, wholegrains, wholemeal breads/pasta etc, high protein, lean meat, lots of fresh fruit/veg. I've found since making those tweaks, I don't get that hungry between meals as the energy is released more steadily, so my insulin doesn't fluctuate so much.

One thing I might suggest is that you try plainer porridge oats, as Oatso-simple and other big name brands tend to have lots of sugar hidden inside, that might be what's making you hungry afterwards.

I eat all the time throughout the day, not full size meal portions. I do this because it increases your metabolism quite dramitacally. I can then eat lots without putting on weight and consume more vitamins, minerals, carbs, protein etc........

So i guess it depends on what your reasons are for doing this?

But to reduce appetite drinking plenty of water throughout the day (3-5 litres) can help and for some people a decent breakfast, as you should eat alot because you have the rest of the day burning calories.

    thanks for the tips.

I know i need to make myself drink more water so i will try that and make an effort to eat more of the things Go Away suggested, and the protein pills too.

    Reasons, being hungry annoys me!

I sometimes chew chewing gum. But I tend to eat really big meals so I don't get so hungry inbetween.

Isn't chewing gum meant to increase appetite though?

I find bananas and water make me less hungry.
