    On the one hand this is bad news for everyone. Anything that might lead to the militarisation of space is bad news.

    On the other hand is extremely fucking rich of the US government, which has blown dozens of satellites in the past and it's more or less the only nation with full capability to do so, to complain about debris in space or other nations acquiring the technology. Once again it's do as I say not as I do from Uncle Sam... :rolleyes:

    Doing what they did though, is rather darned precise and a hell of a long way away from the earth surface

    rather bloody good effort I say, and as for the threat of gps getting blown apart, I don't drive so therefore need no satnav

    The US will be shitting itself. Not only the already piss-poor and unworkable missile defence system could be completely disabled at the push of a button, but entire communication systems the US armed forces depend on could be taken down or disrupted severely.

    From that point of view it is not such a bad thing. No country should have supremacy and a sense of invincibility over all other nations.
