Testicle Troubles...

Hi all, at the beginning of March I had what could best be descibed as a "painful incident" Basically put, I crushed my left testicle when sitting down.
It hurt for several hours, before I went to sleep, and seemed to have gone or at least dulled the next morning. However I knocked it again a few days later, and that time the pain came back with a vengeance in my testicle (and around my groin), and I also noticed it had swelled up somewhat. A week later, and after a slightly embarassing explanation to my Mum, I went and saw the Doctor about it. He was very good, and reassured me that there was nothing wrong, that knocks are both common and painful, and that it might take a week or two for the pain to subside - he also allayed my fears that the swelling and pain had anything to do with cancer and the like (I've read the part of this site relating to testicular cancer before and noted the symptoms).
Two weeks later, and although the pain had gone away slightly, a dull ache in the testicle remained on occasion, and I went back to see the Doctor. After another examination, he re-re-assured me that he could see nothing wrong, and proceeded to explain that I may be experiencing something called "symptom displacement" related to the depression and anxiety he's also treating me for; where the brain 'latches onto' certain aches and pains, has you looking for problems and worrying about your health, and ignores the underlying problem (in this case the depression and anxiety). I was given some tablets to ease the anxiety some more, and I went home feeling a bit better about things.
Unfortunately, for pretty much all of the last month I've been experiencing the same discomfort as before. If my left testicle gets so much as bumped, it will hurt for ages. It's getting quite difficult for me to wear jeans anymore (!), and I have to be really careful just sitting down. I've also had slight pains in my right testicle several times over the last month, and obviously I am quite... well, VERY worried about it all.
So I'm just wondering whether anyone has any experience with this type of thing? Could it be a bad injury that takes a long time to heal, the aforementioned "symptom displacement", could I have torn something in that area, or could it be something more sinister?
Any comments, advice or suggestions really would be great

The only other thing you could do would be to go to a different doctor.
You say it's been two months since the original 'injury' and the dull ache is still there.
Like jeffrey says, maybe try going to a different doctor (or go back to the same one again) and explain how worried you are. They should be able to arrange an ultrasound for you.
It sounds really painful mate, I hope that you get it sorted out soon.
Loopi. xxx
Anyway, thanks to everyone who's replied. I do feel somewhat more confident and positive about things, and I'm hoping to get a doctors appointment for tomorrow or the day after to try and get this sorted out.
Thanks again to everyone who offered advice and encouragement, and to anyone else with concerns like mine; get yourself to the doctor - there's really nothing to be apprehensive about, they've seen it all before, and having peace of mind about it is great.
(And good luck King of Glasgow, hope everything works out well)
