ok firstly i realise allhealth problems are best dealt with by a doctor but i wonder if mine really warrants using up his precious time.
i get this really weird taste in my mouth like the acidy taste u get in your mouth after you;ve eaten a lemon. Just recently its got much worse and i get pains in my stomach and back. Any ideas? i'm at a loss. I tried eating less acidic foods but no change.
If anyone has any ideas then i'm all up 4 hearing them. And do u think i should go and see the doc or save those appointments for the really ill people??

Yes it's worth wasting his precious time. Your health is more important than his afternoon on the golf course.
Gastric....
O?
R?
Syndrome...
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. So you were nearly there!
Pain in the back is referred pain from the oesophagus, stomach pain goes without saying, and acid in the mouth is obviously gastric contents escaping up the oesophagus. Possible causes include hiatus hernia, or functional defects of the oesophageal sphincters. Avoidance of fatty foods and large meals may help symptoms. Treatment includes antacids, and proton pump inhibitors to reduce acid production in the stomach.
Damn I'm good
It means I have big books to refer to when I get stuck
Thanx 4 the advice, if a little scary. Will attempt to make an appointment, which knowing my doc will book me in about...... august probably.
Am i in a rush to see him? ie is it important to get it sorted asap? Might sound odd but appointments are like gold dust
meant "no joy"
It is best to get him to take a proper medical history. Good luck.
I have that.
If it is that, it's nowt too scary. I have 6 week courses of tablets every so often and it sorts it right out.
But it's always best to check with a doctor....they'll want to check to make sure there's nothing else causing it...
you shouldn't ever worry about wasting your doctor's time. i seem like a total hypochondriac the amount of times i go in, and the one time i thought it mightn't be that serious, my liver wasn't working properly, and if i'd have left it much longer it might have turned very serious...
