Gross Topic

Has anyone evere used a black head remover? I bought one the other day from the body shop cos I have a few blackheads on my nose (hell, doesn't everyone?).

The idea is you put hot water on your face to open the pores up and then press this contraption onto a black head and (gross bit) the stuff inside the black head is squeezed out.

The trouble is, all it seems to have done is iritate my skin, so now instead of having a few mostly unnoticable black dots on my nose, I have several irritated looking red dots!

Am I doing something wrong? Help! I know there is more important things than this, especially as I need a job and somewhere to live (if anyone is offering....) but this is annoying me.

They're just a scam, I'm sure. If you look at them properly, it seems you'd have to have black holes instead of blackheads for the damn things to work.

And I'm sure they give you more spots - after all, you're raking a dirty piece of metal around your face.

    Just steam & squeeze instead.

Complete scam I am sure. I'm not sure what type you are using but I had the wee strips that you're supposed to stick onto your nose and then remove ... along with the blackheads apparently. All that happened was that the top of the blackhead came off (making it less noticeable for all of five minutes) before being replaced with enormous whiteheads and a red blotchy rash!!! Kind of defeated the object I felt ... although, I suppose that it did do what it said (in some warped kind of way).

those metal things from the body shop are shit innit lol.
my mum picked me one up (im a boy who dont like body shops and stuff...slugs snails puppydog tails ) and she started waggin it in my face for months goin "go on! its really good i hear!"

good my ass. just hurt a lot and never worked.

and dont get me started on those sticky glue strip thingys lol

edited to add something that just sprung to mind...i did see something that looked pretty good once; like a syringe with a cupped end instead of a sharp point...apparentl ya put the tiny cup over ya blackhead and pull the plunger back to suck out the stuff inside the blackhead. think i see it in a chemist or one of those small kleenez catalogues or something

    Oooh *remembers having a facial*
The beauty-therapist woman suggested opening up your pores by steaming them and then getting a sterilised needle and then popping/slicing/injecting it.
I remember that being the painful part of the facial because she got some zapper device to get rid of them. *eugh*

But I haven't been brave enough to try it myself.

I would ask your doctor or have the receptionist ask the doctor for you how to get rid of the blackheads your doctor ought to know how to get rid of blackheads without you doing damage to yourself by doing something wrong that you'll regret later
