Counselling

I really need to talk to someone as I'm miserable all the time. I'm so depressed and it's getting worse. Can anyone tell me how to go about speaking to a counsellor or therapist?

Yes. Pop along to your GP and ask him/her to arrange something for you.

If you can't wait that long the Samaritans are on 08457 909090 (24/7).

When I go to my GP, what do I ask him for? What should I say?

You can say exactly what you said in your post. Also, there are independent counselling services in most areas that you can make appointments with - should be in the phone book or advertised in your local careers centre.

well done you, its a positive step just recognising it. your doctor will have come across this lots of times before and will arrange for you to talk to someone.
