Best Music on Pills

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
What songs do you go mental for when your on pills?

I know it might be hard, i.e. you pretty much go mad for anything that comes on, BUT, I always got a few that turn my bottom lip in Joy! It would be good to find some the other songs you guys listen to, so I can give em a shot myself.

Dance with me all night - Wigan Pier
Through Your Eyes - Giuseppe Ottaviani
No Matter What - Nu Electric
No One Knows - Pendulum
What else is there - Royksopp
Kick your legs - Dougal
Rave Heaven - Dave McCullen
Gigi. etc.

When I'm on pills, the music has to be HARDCORE or DRUM AND BASS!

Any Hardcore or Drum and Bass will do, but if I had to pick out some tunes that I remember loving in particular on pills...

    Voodoo People (Pendulum remix)
I'm Feeling (Live) - Kevin Energy & MC Sharkey
Inside Your Mind (Live) - Kevin Energy & MC Sharkey
    Heartbeatz - Breeze & Styles
    Fasten Your Seatbelt - Pendulum
Making Me Wanna Dance (Sy & Unknown remix) - Asa & S1
Shy FX, MC Shabba, MC Skibadee Live @ Pure Science
DJ Brockie, MC Shabba, MC Skibadee Live @ MC Convention 2003
Deep Down - Gammer & MC Smiley
    Getting Better - Darren Styles
Hardcore Til I Die - DJ Hixxy
    Alanamra - Alek Szahala
Crescendo's of Ecstasy (K Complex remix) - Kevin Energy
DJ Friction, MC Eksman Live @ Fabric - Drum and Bass Arena
    Lethal Industry - DJ Tiesto

Ok so maybe a lil bit of Trance is good too

I've danced to different types music whilst pilled up. I started off going to gurning away to dance music at clubs like Tangled in Manchester. I still enjoy throbbing base and rhythms that take you up and down, but i do enjoy a good groove to some funk and soul. More recently I've been popping my pills to Motown and 60's psychedelic.

Whatever floats your musical boat really.

I like most types of dance music with pills... mainly drum & bass, breakbeat or old skool (especially the stuff on the moving shadow label) I dont mind a bit of hardcore either...
Tunes I'm really feeling at the moment would be

Clipz & Die - Number One (Roni Size Remix)
    Dillinja - Make it work
    Dillinja - Bell Tune
    Skyver & D-Jon Feat.Gedrukt - Spun
Leviticus - Big Bad & Heavy [Logistics Remix]
    Shimon - The Shadow Knows
D-Region Featuring Jenna G - Gentleman (Full Vocal Mix)
Dr Octagon - Aliens (Sub Focus VIP Remix)
    Distorted Minds - No Test
    Trinity - Shit Bag
Drumsound & Bassline Smith - I Need Your Love
    TC - Flatliner
    Story Of Lapland - Muffler
    Botox - Connecta

and many more that I cant be arsed to list now! :D

ETA: Here is a clip of Number One... I thought Pill'ed might appreciate it, its Friction playing live with Eskman. Here!

Actually, although Hardcore, DnB and a bit of Trance are what I pretty much always listen to on pills, I do remember having a craving to listen to some Dimmu Borgir (Norwegian Black Metal) once when I was pilled up, so I sat listening to that which sounded amazing and so dark, twisted and surreal.

Deep house, tech-house, Detroit techno, electro/breaks, jungle, reggae, funk, hip hop - in fact anything with decent basslines and groove.

D&B, Trance (although it can seem too slow sometimes), Hardcore (Freeformish Stuff), one track I really enjoy listening to is Total Science - Nosher (Baron Remix) - can be found on youtube - because all of the sounds seem to fit so well with the track.

Also like gabba/industrial hardcore aswell, especially when in a club because the kick/bass goes right through you.

Also check out Drifting Away on this geezers myspace, one of my favourite trance tunes and it's perfect for when you're in the midst of coming up ;)

Oh, and if you can get hold of a copy John B - Mercury Skies is another quality one. Its like a fusion of trance and D&B but sounds surprisingly good.

Sorry, but that's dreadful cliched nonsense. Try some drum programming to get away from that stiff 4 to the floor beat and lose the horrible preset synth sounds.

Can't beat of cheesy trance with euphoric build ups when on pills.

Pfft yeah and try some electro? Probably the most boring, soul-less music around.

hard, uplifting trance :thumb: all the way!

drum n bass, hard house n hard style are also brilliant, as is a lot of (good) trance

like pill ed i find electro etc doesnt do much for me.. its good in small doses but it doesnt seem to have as much 'energy' about it :hyper:

You can't beat a bit of Producer, Scorpio or Hellfish either, but that's for the serious hardcore.

Its got da funk, which last time I checked, is a fairly important requisite for dancing (as opposed to standing on the spot and doing that silly flappy hand thing you trancemonkeys do).

Okay, so the title Electro Breakdance may be a bit misleading but "Predominantly classic hip-hop from back in the day" doesn't quite have the same ring to it. - Hmm.. you don't say. Guess you've never heard any electro either if that's the case.

Skive - Have seen Scorpio & Producer out a couple of times, they're both shit hot although I usually can't last a whole set up dancing haha.

I only stuck that image up cos I was too lazy to look for this one

However, as anyone alive in the 80's will tell you, hip hop and electro were not that different back then. Have a listen to Afrika Bamabaata sometime.

    Afrika Bambaata are awsome.
However for me personally when I'm on Ecstasy, it has got to be Hardocore or Drum & Bass, maybe a bit of Trance.

Old skool (early 90's) hardcore is OK. Some drum'n'bass is OK (although really fast industrial stuff is dull), trance however makes me want to kill people. I don't get how people can possibly dance to it, its lumpen, funkless, sexless shite.

    Hardcore
    Hardstyle
    Jumpstyle
    Bouncy hard house
Really hard trance (no fluffy shit)
    Handbag house
    Really funky house

for dancing, mostly electro-house, acid-house, techno/tech-house, some drum n bass and electronic.

i also think alot of these artists are great for listening to whilst on pills: massive attack, daft punk, kraftwerk, fischerspooner, royksopp, aphex twin, and pink floyd amongst others!

    Good tunes to it though.

Good hardstyle and gabber is class to just bounce along to aswell. Never seen the appeal of rock music on pills though, just not happening.

    Prodigy.
But it has to be Experience, or Jilted Generation. When they were still hardcore.

    I second that,
except for that one random time I mentioned earlier when I had a craving to listen to some Black Metal. I think it was the double bass drumming and the whole darkness of it, just sounded so sic at the time.
But yeah usually rock music is a no no on pills.

You're kidding, right? Unless you count shitty pre-set synth stabs as "tunes".

    Naaah, that's funkless shite too.

Although I do have a soft spot for mid 90's acid tekno (SUF, Smitten, Routemaster, X Trax etc).
