My dad is currently trying to upload some of his artwork onto his website, however he's now realised that he wants to put a watermark or copy-prevention thing on it so no-one can copy his work. Does anyone know how he would go about doing this? I've googled it for him but most things seem quite costly and he's completely clueless about computers.
Would just like a little advice if possible.
Cheers guys.

You could fashion your own watermark in any graphics software that allows you to use layers with variable opacity. Create an image in solid white that will be your watermark, then go to your pic that you want to protect, create a new layer with say 5-10% opacity and paste white copyright thing into that layer, and flatten the image. Save that as a new file.
photoshop is not free
In fact I've noticed 99% of people who use it aren't graphic designers but just people who like making lj icons. Bizarre.
Since when:chin:
I take it you're one of the ones who just plays on it then
I know people who do academic graphic work, and suprise surprise, they pay for it!
The important key word in your sentance is ACADEMIC:)
Regardless, Photoshop is not a free piece of software. It's not even free if you're using someone else's copy. They've either bought it, or it's unlicensed stolen software.
Sigh.
Sigh somewhere else.
You can't tell me that you have Never used software without paying for it.
What difference does that make? We were discussing whether or not Photoshop was free. Not whether I've used a piece of software or not.
What's it got to do with you anyway.
I was sighing because you were being intentionally obtuse.
Your use of stolen software or otherwise is of no great concern to me, it's between you and your karmic alignment.
What kind of watermarks do you want? Might be able to knock some up for you?
