hiyas all

u may have read one of my posts before on here about depression. well its been but 2 1/2 months now since i started taking fluoxetine and im feeling a bit better but the doctor isnt sure whether to keep me on it, he wants the oppinion of the community psychiatric nurse first (cos of me going to a&e one time), the problem over thelast few weeks ive kinda been avoiding being myself. ive spent much of the time at my friends house playing computergames and nething to distrac me, plus staying over therelots too, ive come home for easter now and the last few days have been bad and yesterday i felt very low and cut into my arm again wita penknife and scisors and then reopened it today to make it bleed again, and ive been crying again aswell. i just dont know wot do....does anyone know wot i can do to feel better

Sorry to hr you're not too good at the mo, i went through something similar, and it may not seem logical, but it's not a bad thing to try and distract yourself from being yourself. Being with friends/staying over etc obviously helped you, even if it was only that you didn't hurt yourself. Maybe you should ring up some peeps n have a girly sleepover or something. Sad i know, but it does the trick.

The fluoxetine sounds like its working, but it is NOT a cure, merely a means to stabilise you enough to get professional help. Im on fluoxetine too, maybe instead of taking you off it the dosage should be increased...Im not wanting to sound like a doctor, but I know that when my doctor increased my dose from 20mg to 40mg its helped.

Read this, the mental health magazine on here and feel free to email me if you want a natter
