How can you say Corsodyl tastes bad?? I drink gallons of the stuff. Its a very good mouthwash and tastes lovely

Bonjella is best for ulcers though. I think all it does it numb the whole thing..Im not sure theres anything that can actually cure ulcers as they heal naturally.

If you get lots of ulcers, prolonged use of Bonjella is not recommended.

We have a factfile here: http://www.thesite.org/info/health/general_health/mouth_ulcers.html

That's because the page was to explain how to treat them, not the ins and outs of bonjella - but the reason why, I believe, is that bonjella is purely for kids teething, it doesn't actually treat ulcers, they usually heal by themselves.
Follow the advice on the factfile.

Yep!! For about the first time in 5-6 weeks i have none at all
Not sure what did the trick tho cuz i used the mouthwash & some bonjella (nicked from my nephew! ) along with salt & water.
But they are gone anyway
Thanx everyone.

I haven't been able to find any reason not to use BONJELA. Susie is right to say that it is also used for teething and that ulcers will heal on their own. Karla is right in so far as if the same ulcer has been around for 3 weeks or more, you should not rely on Bonjela as a treatment. But that is not because Bonjela itself is harmful, rather that the ulcer needs to be seen by a doctor since mouth ulcers can be symptomatic of more serious conditions.

Having said that, you should never exceed the stated dose because Bonjela contains a substance similar to aspirin which has been linked to duodenal ulcers and will also affect the ability of your blood to form clots.

If you are particularly susceptible to mouth ulcers I would start to consider the causes as mentioned on the link above. But generally Bonjela, if used correctly, can be very useful.

Ok, i get TERRIBLE mouth ulcers that nothing seems to help, but i read an article a couple of months ago and there's an ingredient that most shampoos have in them that had been known to cause mouth ulcers.. it's called sodium laureth sulphate, and it's a foaming agent, and i switched my shampoo and i haven't had any since, so it's worth giving it a go. Pantene doesn't have any in it, by the way. hope that helps! S. x
