Problems with testicles

Hi all.
Ok, I have a problem. I was making love to my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago and all of a sudden my left testicle seemed to slip upwards (ie. out of the scrotum and under the skin).
I have been to the doctors and they have said I may need an op? I'm not 100% sure what this condition is? I've heard of unasended testicles, but this seems to be the opposite.
Can anyone help - what's it called? any info?
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know how this is treated?
Kind of scary, but it doesn't hurt, so I haven't gone to the doctor. It just kind of slips under the skin near the scrotum for a second or two then pops back out.
What did the doctors tell you? That you had a hernia?
If you find out anything bad, like that I should get this checked out, please post here or PM me. Thanks.
Ummm, if your doctor said you need an operation he probably would of sent you to a specialist by now (they have specialists for everything these days!) If he hasn't, you probably don't need an operation but if it happens again go back.
Try not to worry too hard, if everything is normal now, put it out of your mind and hope it was a 1 off.
But at least you went to the doctor. Maybe go to another one and get a second opinion?
Good luck,

USC Alex:
I shall let you know what the outcome is.
DyingStarlight (Bristolian!):
The doctor told me that I would be refered to a specialist to see what is needed - just waiting to hear from them now. With the NHS, I shall be waiting for a while no doubt!
Cheers all.
Good luck with the doctor - let us know how it goes!
Awww, poor you, I hope you'll be alright. But yeah, do let us know, and feel free to email me and tell me how you get on (address is in profile - I'm so living on the edge - beware paedophiles and all that LOL)
