Best way to get a day off work

Whats the best way to get next friday off work, bearing in mind i start this job for the first time on mondy.

On friday i have to go to an interview, but it seems cheeky to ask for a day off in my first week.

Any ideas?

    Say you got your drink spikes/baldder infections/tyhe clap/you're pregnant/your friend died but it turned out they were sleeping over the weekens really heavy liek :D

    Whats the interview for? Is it for a job to replace that one? and how long do you think it would take?

    This interview is to replace the job i start monday. I think it should take about 2 weeks to find out.

    If you say that you've got a prior commitment most companies will honour it. Just let them know at interview.
