Annoying Spots.....

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
This topic has probably come up before but Im just hoping someone can help. Its just that I seem to get spots even though Im washing regulary when other people never seem to get them ,they're not horrendously bad but they still affect my confidence I guess and I just wish I could get rid of them. I use Clearasil Biactol in the mornings and evenings and them oxypads twice a day and I had these minocycline tabs form the docs but I still get them and its sssooo annoying, I've seen the oxy 'on the spot' things and all that but just trying every single thing is bound to irratate things. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice please?.....

This wouldve been better on HEALTH, but....

How bad are they, are they just spots or is it more acne? Spots are just hormonal, and will clear up in time- just keep washing, and try to avoid a lot of fatty products.

If you are worried, go and see the doctor.

It matters not who won or lost, but how you place the blame.

Your problem may be that your using too many things-thus drying your skin so you have to use tons of moisturiser. I used to be like you! Right use a facewash daily! once or twice, like Biore....It worked for me coz it doesn't have all the storng stuff which messes up your skin combination! Just remember that people with spots have oily skin and won't get wringles. My brother told me that!!

Cool, thanx 4 the replys...by the way what is Biore? Is that a well known one.....Ive just started using just the clearasil daily to see how that goes.....its just that one week things can be near-on fine and then another they'll be a few come from no-where whilst most people I know seem to be able to remain clear.....hope its true about the wrinkles though <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">

I know it sounds really boring but it is true that drinking lots and lots of water really does wonders for your skin. 2 litres or more a day! It's hard to do but force yourself, and you'll get used to it. I used to carry a litre with me as I set off to work and try to drink it by the time I got there.
Obviously you end up going to the loo a lot more but it's so good for you and you will notice a difference

Try and get ur doctor 2 refer u 2 a consoultant dermatologist (skin specialist)
Only they have the authority 2 prescribe the strongest drugs around. i was on sumfink called 'Roaccutane' (chemical name is unpronounceable) for 6 months in total and it really reduced the level. mind u, i was diagnosed with cystic acne and i had huge lumps (2-3cm across) on my back. bloke said he'd neva seen nefink like it. and it is REALLY strong - u ave 2 ave blood tests b4, during and after use 2 make sure its not harming u. it buggers up ur liver, so u cant drink ne alcohol whilst ur on it, and it can have other nasty side-effects such as depression. - but it does work!

*Water- drink much.. try not to smoke or drink so much alcohol and eat a healthy, balanced diet.

Also I've heard some people take Dianette (brand of contraceptive pill) for more serious disorders. Otherwise, Evening Primrose (you can get pills at holland & barratt or other health food shops) is supposed to work. Oh, and HRI Clear Complexion pills have worked really well for my friend (natural, herbal remedy for acne / minor skin disorders).

Tempting as it is don't spend too much money on new products, it would do your skin much more good if you were to use a facewash (or cleanser and toner) and moisturiser (oil free ones esp. good) and get into a routine which you can keep-than to continue trying out new things.

Baby Bio - Roaccutain really is a prescription for BAD acne not spots, u know that as do I.

Its a marvellous thing, However I had no side effects (OK my mood swings are not normal for a 18yo guy, and they stopped when I came off it!! )

But I drank, Smoked, and had a great time, every ow and then my face just flairs a little and so i take a couple for a fewdays does the tric (shouldnt do that I know)
