turkey is awesome if its cooked right, im a big fan,

It's still not as nice as chicken, which is why for the other 11 months of the year chicken is more expensive and turkey is as cheap as chips.

I am looking forward to my duckie :D

We are having a prawn cocktail to start.

Then turkey with oatmeal stuffing, sausagemeat stuffing balls, pigs in blanket, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, brussels with pancetta, cauliflower cheese, carrots and peas with homemade gravy :yum:

Then we have Christmas pudding or yule log (both homemade) for dessert but will probably have dessert in the evening.

I can't wait. Best part of Christmas is Christmas dinner :yum:

Curry on the day itself, as my mum is working and its just me and dad at home. Boxing day my brother and his girlfriend are coming down so we're getting the full works then. (But chicken as she wont eat turkey)

It's tastier but often too dry as it aint the easiest bird to cook. Dark meat is especially tasty and turkey makes a far better soup.

My Mam makes the best Xmas dinner ever.

Prawn Cocktail (she always leaves the minging dressing out for her special boy i.e me) or Melon boats to kick off.

Choice of Turkey or Roast Beef, roast tatties, mashed tatties, carrots, neep, stuffing, brussel sproots.

Pudding is usually meringue and jelly/ice cream, raspberries and strawberries, although the one thing I bake all year is my Sticky Toffee Pudding, which is absolutely legendary.

The Turkeys around this time of year are always bred for size too, and taste of little.

A well-basted turkey is wonderful, but I'd prefer a well-basted duck over it any day.

We'll be sharing the cooking too.

We have turkey from a small local farm (everyone but me cos I'm veggie)
    yorkshire puds
    potatoes mashed, roasted and boiled
    roast parsnips
    carrots
    broccoli and cauliflower
    peas
    pigs in blankets
a couple of pork stuffings (chestnut / lemon)
    sage & onion stuffing
    bread sauce etc

For pudding theres xmas pud, trifle and some kind of chocolate cake normally.

    Yum can't wait :thumb:

Try having my job, I work as a waiter and barman at East Sussex National golfcourse and hotel and every shift at the moment is a christmas party which means dinner every night is turket, roast potato's, sausages in bacon e.t.c with prawn, melon or pate starters and christmas puddings, chocolate torte e.t.c for desert. I was sick of it a few days ago!

Prawn cocktail then Turkey, boiled spuds, roast spuds, processed peas, chipolatas, Yorkshire puddings, sage and onion stuffing.
Bucks Fizz to drink as I don't like wine but I don't mind it too much with orange in it. We've got trifle and chocolate gateaux for desert.

I don't know what I'll be having instead of the turkey on xmas day. Probably just have all the rest. I've been making an effort this week and every meal has been properly cooked comfort food, feeling rather festive (ie. not packet pasta on toast or oven pizza)
