Good luck, I wouldn't worry too much. Flying isn't all that scary like. Can't even feel yourself going fast like!

Could you imagine how long of a train ride that would be! (not to mention that trains in themselves *shudder* ) Hobo's and stuff.

Though maybe like an old school luxury train, with a drink cart pushed by a man in a butler outfit and red velvet curtins on the windows.

Picture the train ride from Moscow to Vladivostok! :shocking:

 dude, that would be SUCH a long trian ride! Anything that goes accross more than one state line takes at least 12-15 hours.

Oh no. I drive from mid minnesota, thru wisconsin to east illinois in 6 hours with a couple pee stops.

Or east il thru wisconsin, thru mn and to vermillion SD in just about 9 hours. (cuz I drive those alot)

Then theres this one place in south IL, go 75 miles and you can drive thru 4 (I think) different states :p

I want to do that. So badly. You get to go to mad Siberian towns.

I really want to visit Arkhangel though.

Erm, I didn't realise our Yankee trains sucked so much. Get some proper high speed ones like.

but we're talking about train rides. Taking a train takes much longer than driving.

Oh yeah, I got confused
Have you ever ridden on a cross state train? What is it actually like?

My mom used to have stories as she would take the train from twin cities, mn to lacross, wi and she loved it, she got it free cuz her dad worked for the railroads and she got the luxury lines bit (with the drink carts and such). It does make me want to try it actually.

    was that sarcasm?

I don't know about in europe but in the states using a train takes forever. The passenger trains don't own the rail lines so they have to yeild to freight cars. Means you stop for hours on end in the middle of nowhere.

Your trains fucking suck then. I am not even JOKING. Jesus.

The problem here is driving is cheaper than trains, so erm, people do that, even though it takes longer.

    No, it wasn't sarcasm.

Well that must be a bitch but in Europe it's very efficent and trains are definately quicker than driving. Especially if you want to go to a big city, means you don't end up in traffic for 40 mins when you're just oh so close to the city centre.
