But instead of it being a realistic and presentable alternative, its a fucking nightmare. Before the new road to my village was built the bus would get stuck in the same traffic jam as the cars, which removes the whole point of getting the bus, but stupidly now the new road is built the bus service has got MORE unreliable. Probably because the drivers now know that they can leave the depot 15 minutes late and still clock off their shift on time if they drive fast enough (which they do).
It was less stressful, and more reliable, to do the 20-mile commute to Sunderland by bus and Metro that I did two years ago than it is to do the 7-mile commute to town by bus now. The problem seems to be the huge number of Poles and Romanians that the bus company have taken on in the last three months- its certainly the only thing that's changed.
I thought there was some sort of no smoking law on the buses? Well, on the ones in Plymouth there are.
There is, but you try getting a gang of chavscum to put their tabs out.
Nah thats called Greed
So not only have I just spent the past ffiteen minutes freezing in the rain (at winter, snow) but I have to endure screaming kids, old fogeys complaining about "All the weans" well, Mrs, maybe if you had had waited until AFTER 9 o clock there wouldn't be all these children on the bus.
After dropping off most of the women and children and the various people going to the DSS we would have to stop for 5 minutes while all the old fogeys get off the bus at ASDA. We would get into school late, the teachers wouldn't believe that we were actually at the bus stop on time and we'd get into trouble.
The same goes for after school finioshes when the old fogeys would complain about children on the bus, sorry but don't we have a right to get home on public transport too?
Don't even get me started on the bus drivers who pack the bus so full noone can even breathe. Also the time i was 15 and going to the school Disco. The fucking wanker driving the bus wouldn't accept i was under 16 and made me pay adult fare
Patience is a virtue.
I don't get it, you all should be damn fucking grateful you're getting a bus in the first place cos there's hundreds of millions who don't and have to walk extortionate miles to school or town or wherever they're going.
You're comparing infrastructure with relationships?
ETA:Lets get this straight, any African peasant can get a woman just like any Greek or English person can. They ca't get a bus however to school however. That's the difference.
Note the word "grateful" It was the main thesis of my argument.
Taxis are bloody expensive.
It would be more expensive in a taxi.
Exactly, you're paying more for privacy, bit of heat and listen to the radio.
On a bus, you pay for what you're getting and I think you should be grateful of that service.
Indeed it's not. Next week if I was to get the bus there and back (twice, to a nursery I have a placement at) it would cost me nearly £7...
Is that REALLY so much to ask for £450 a year? Really?
And I know a taxi would be more expensive. Infinitely more expensive. Which is why I don't get taxis, because they'd be just as shit anyway.
If you feel bad about not having enough buses in the morning, write a letter to your MP. Not the bus drivers fault.
Last week they took the 70X out of service because one of the buses on another route had broken down. I wouldn't have minded so much, except it was one of the routes than runs every 10 minutes.
Well, given that Franki has written to her MP and there was a petition, the answer is....
*drum roll*
........yes.
Yep, I can safely say that I have done before now.
Do the bus companies care? Do they fuck. Who cares if they cancel half their services, you'll still be stood in the pissing rain when one does come because you have no other way of getting to work. Less buses = more profit, after all.
I'd hardly call buses cheap, either. My bus ticket costs me £450 a year, and that's with the 25% discount I get through work.
At least I'm not turning up late to every 9am lesson I have this year. Almost, though.
The bus company don't care, and I can't exactly threaten them with anything, can I? There isn't another bus company, I've bought my ticket already, and parking in the city centre is a nightmare. I'll still be stood at the bus stop when one comes up because there isn't anything else I can do, and they make more money if they run two loads of passengers on the same overcrowded bus.
The greedy cunts are going on strike next week. Apparently a 12% pay increase isn't enough for the filth, so they're all having the day off to go home and look at pornography all day.
Every single one of the cunts should be immediately dismissed, and they should be made personally liable for every single penny every person in Newcastle loses as a result of this action.
I wish them all dead.
