a 2nd Student Loan

ive got 9000 outstanding with SLC and i havnt started repayments. could i go back to uni in 2009 and take out another SLoan or do i have to pay the first one off before taking out another

    if it's for a postgraduate course you cant get a student loan.

    if it's to start a different undergraduate course after failing to complete your first one, you'd have to ask them, I think you may still be elligible.

    if you're leaving your course with the intention of completing it at another date I would think you would be elligible.

    you will have to start paying your load back in the event you start earning over the thresh hold (like £17k or something I think) before you go back, even if you intend to go back later.

    I have seen reports earlier this year that the yearly tuition fee could rise to £5000 a year in 2010. The Government could hold discussions about raising the fees, but any such decision would have to be approved by Parliament. Just shows how expensive it is.
