    OMG they really ARE tucker boots.
    We used to wear those in the 80s with ski pants (kind of like jodphurs without the reinforced thighs, but with stirrups under the feet - fucking hideous)
    I really cant believe some of the stuff they bring back. Its embarrassing.

    SOME of us had more sense and stuck to white stillettos and stonewashed jeans!!! :lol:

    did you have any of those bleach washed distressed jeans like BROS had, or tight jeans with zips at the ankle?

    Er... no.

    I did have jeans with elasticated ankles with a kind of short strap that went round the ankle bit and did up with a popper thingy, but that was in about 1984! I have no idea if you know what I mean. I can't find a pic.

    I was conversing with my work mate yesterday, who is 14 years older than I, about fashion. She was saying how lucky I was not to have experienced the 80's. Then a tear fell from my eye as I told her about the 14 year old girl I saw in the mall with slouched up leg warmers with red pumps and a mini skirt.

    It's not that people don't know what ankle boots are, but as the images in the Google link show, there are a huge variety - pointy with a stiletto heel, platforms, wedges, skintight ones, slouchy ones, patent, matte, fabric, all sorts of colours & patterns...

    Personally I like some & loathe others - I hate slouch boots, chunky boots & boots that gape around your ankle. And I hatehatehate those little short heels that seem to be on every damn piece of footwear these days (you know the ones where it looks like a stiletto heel that's been squished? It always makes me think the person has leaned backwards too hard & squished their heels). I like platforms, & victorian/granny boots (for an example see the boots in the 2nd pic Miffy posted) & prefer patent or suede (I like shiny things & velvety things). Others I can take or leave, depending on the style, what they're worn with, & if the person has nice legs.
