New colour scheme

In prep for the new design for the whole community section we've now got a new boards scheme up for testing - if anyone wants to select ruby red and tell me what you think I'd apprechiate it :)

Oh and better names would be cool as well

    The red makes my eyes hurt against the white, there's too much of a contrast. Could the white be something else?

    We've pushed the pink colour so it's a bit stronger - see if that's any easier KHSS

    Actually after using it for 5 minutes, I dont like it. Back to Vision in Violet for me.

    I think if the background colour that this reply text appears on was darker, say was a more .. light grey[ish] then perhaps i would like it better. It could grow on me if it was darkened a bit more. It's ok though as it is, like the button's.

    Yeah, reckon I need to tighten them up -wanted to go with the stronger image font rather than simple text but might have to try it sharpened rather than strong.

    Best thing might be let me know what people don't like - the main solid red has to stay other things can be played around with.

    Could you make it a red version of vision in violet? I think that's the layout that the colours work the best on.

    Maybe you could try something slightly darker than white? Like grey or a light brown?

    Im sorry Jim, I dont like it either, however, its the contrast on red and white that i have issues with, so i think if you could make it cream it maybe a bit easier on the eyes.
    and if you could play with the font a bit and make it little less 'clinical'.
    But, i do like the little buttons. stick with them.

    In fact, the "Ruby Red" looks better than "Ruby Red - Wide". I think on the wide there is too much white, but there isn't so much blank space on the normal view.

    Yeah I agree with the majority, there seems to be too much white. Maybe the replies back ground etc could be altered. The red's ok, although I do like my old school orange more. Am going to see what the violet's like though, maybe I fancy a change! (I see everyone mentioning it, I thought I'll have a peek)

    ETA: Nope, I still like my orange. What can I say, it's what I've had since joining I'm not gonna change it now, I wouldn't know what website I was on!

    Okay, I'll be honest and sadly admit this will be fitted in around a load of other work for the redesign - which isn't perfect; but tomorrow I'll put together a few alternative versions and see what people think.

    So thanks for the feedback so far and do bear with us.

    I do like it actually. Kept using it and it has grown on me already but as i said before and sofie said if only the white text background could be more sort of grey it would be so much easier on the eyes.

    I like KHSS' suggestion though.
