But why Roger eh? Why not Robert ... thats the best name in the world!
Ooo I know that one, i saw it on something or read about it...
Anyways I think its something to do with a man flying a light aircraft in a barn or something. Actually I might have just made that up completely.
I would laugh at that .. but then again you could be right
Yes I was infact correct i had just made it up.
No honestly I am sure I heard that somewhere.
I knew i had heard that somewhere!!
The cockpit, what is it?
Its a little room at the front of the plane where the pilot sits, but thats not important right now.
Strictly speaking, Police Squad
(all) Its an entirely different type of flying
R is Romeo in the phonetic alphabet (sorry small point but i do have a radio operators licence).
I think however that it used to be Roger - in the old photetic alpabet but the alphabet was standardised so that all countries now use the same word with each letter - previously they all used different ones.
Anyway Roger means message received and understood - the r standing for recieved.
I dont remember that line from Airplane, its not very funny.
- Do you have anything light?
- We have a leaflet here, its Famous Jewish Sports Legions
Because saying "Coooooore, I wouldn't mind giving that a good bobin" just would work for everyone.
And the American English, and the Proper One, and the Aussie One (Which should just be a seperate language alltogether.)
