Your A-level results

Hi guys
I know it's still a while away, but I thought I'd start a thread for A-level results, giving you all the resources here on TheSite to help you onto your next step, whether the results are good or bad.

First of all, we've done a podcast about A-level results and your next step here:
Podcast

We've also got an article about coping with low results and one about better results than expected - which can be equally as confusing as lower than expected ones!

If you're stressed waiting for your results, check out the exam result stress article here.

As gap years are such a popular choice after a-levels, thought I'd also post up our gap year section.

Finally, do use this thread to discuss your results, worries, excitement, plans etc etc...

Best of luck to everyone waiting for results!

I fucked mine up last year and got nowhere what I needed - I still got into uni. I hope you all get the results you want and need - but even if you dont it ain't the end of the world - there is plenty of options out there.

    Good luck people!

Into York... now lets see if I hit the jackpot and made Warwick. My friend is annoyed because I put really high-graded subjects even though I wasn't going to get the grades, but because they're not popular they've pulled the grade requirements down stupidly low for clearing. But he put realistic grade things and they've pulled them down as well, he's found 8 unis he would have liked to go to who are now in clearing but before their grade requirements were like AAA. doesn't make sense! lol

For example, maths at York: AAB usually, now gone to BBC. Warwick are a bit more elitist but if my calculations are correct ;) then they should have more places than applicants - and being an A grade math student I'm in pole position. We'll have to see in the morning though, good luck everyone!

Good luck everyone! And what JsT said is right, if you don't get your results there are plenty of options. Call your unis, see if you got in anyway. I work in a university admissions office, you would be surprised how many people who miss the grade still get in.

    Good luck everyone!!!!

If you get what you want - congratulations! If you don't, there's no need to panic. Even if you don't get in your first choice, you'll have a great time being a student wherever you end up - I should know ;-)

Btw, for anyone panicking about student money I found this special section on Sun Online. Time to start budgeting!

I got ABC, into York (as I said last night), could phone up Warwick to see if they'll have me (they wanted AAA) - but I'm not sure if I can be bothered because York is a really nice uni, in fact I prefered the campus etc. to Warwick.

    What should I doo?
(i think the course at warwick is slightly better, not sure though)

Sometimes I wonder if I could have got into a better uni through clearing...

I got ABCD and got onto a course that wanted BCC.

    Hmm :chin:
