simple question, what would happen if you got caught with coke, say a gram and by the police

    Depends. Depends on whether you have any previous, whether you were doing anything else dodgy at the time, how much you had on you, whether you also had large amounts of cash on you, where you were caught etc.

    For a first time offence, getting caught with a g and no other dodgy circumstances, you'd probably get a fine.

    Could be fine and official arrest on your record...could be jail!

    1g - you could argue was for personal use. tho' it does depend on whether you'd be cautioned before or not.

    It depends largely on where you are in the country, local country cops are more likely to be nasty with it and take you to court.

    Big city cops are more likely to give you a caution or even just let you off with a warning.
