Volunterring

I've been thinking of doing some charity work, or some kind of volunteering work because I've got a lot of time on my hands now I'm off college for the summer. I get bored sometimes, and it'd be nice to feel I was doing something useful with my time. But where would I go for advice or contacts in my area? Maybe like the council office or something?

or maybe working in a charity shop? I do that for a few hours a week and its definetly good experience, good to put on your cv and also they would write you a reference if you needed one for something. They're always looking for people to help out

my town has a volunteer bureau place, although i also found the library quite handy. that site looks good though

i was going to say, couldn't you arrange something through your college.
i mean, at my uni we have a volunteering centre which covers all sorts of volunteering opportunities in the local area.
you're college might have the same sorta thing?!!
