Help i could lose a friend

I have a problem my best mate has sudenley found my ex-girlfriend. My Ex fancied my best mate all the way through our relationship thats why i ended it. But now with this new attraction i think my ex will try and sway my best mate away from liking me plus i dont want to see my friend hurt the same way i was by her lies if anyone has any tips on solving this would be brilliant.
