if your targeting and areon a low budget just pickup a single shot airsoft pistol for about £30, or a gas pistol fot about double that.
If your going to events or battles, buy an AEG, these can cost from a £100 - £300+
like hellfire said, TM are good makes, use alot of abs on guns, ICS and Ca use mostly/all metal on guns and are a more expensive alternative.

ETA: Airsoft guns dont fire 'metal pellets' if you turn up at an event with that sort of weaponry you could be banned from the arena.
Also im not sure if it affects where you live but here most metal firing guns ( .177 now ) are banned for public sale without a firearms license.

Airsoftguns are exempt provided they are:- .24 ( 6mm PLASTIC ball bearing ) and < 1J in power.
Most arenas wil chronograph your gun to make sure it fires < 300fps
I do use a MP5 for my primary, which is a sub machine gun, I love it, great for CQB (close quater, in a warehouse or something) and good but not as good as longer barrell rifles in woodland,

Can/do you bring your own stuff to a battle?
I wear and use my own rifles yes, you can use whatever you want in a game. aslong as it follows the rules *like rifles no powerfull than site limits* and pyrotechnics or flashbang grendades or smoke nades must be professional n not home made and must be tested before use etc.
I love the look of flecktarn look, although will probably also do a mercaneries mixed look aswell.
cause I thought you just all turn up with FAMAS rifles and whatnot.
I mean I will be, next game using duel glocks on full auto, or my mp5 etc, if its an airsoft gun, and works and is in power limits you can use it
Pistols are Gas, run on GREEN gas or HF134a (not C02) some do run on Co2 but they're not used often, not as good as green as they break easier, do do co2 tbh.
(I know the safety gear essential)
black clothing is fine, although stay away from jeans tbh

I personlly dont like them, impractical, big and ugly, but they are reliable for sidearms, don't do primary with a pistol for a rookie tbh.
for your price, stick with new CYMA or TM, you cant afford anything else tbh.
