  Lectures are were I'm still meeting most of the new people in my life, bars and clubs tend to be less good because you can't really talk and everyone's drunk.

  Assuming you're at Uni, why not try the SU bar?? Other than that I've always found the best way to meet people is through friends, the setting doesn't really matter.
