Anyway im not gonna bother worrying about money, just gonna have a good time! :D

course he's gonna be in debt. there's that thing called the student loan!

I can't wait to get back to student life next year after my year out in industry. It's been a great year, but think I'm not excited at being able to see the end of studies and the end of really a sector of my life.

I'm also strangely enough looking forward to the challenge of my final year disseration and the stress and hard work that will bring with it. However, I've got to remember to not let having the person I love 100 miles away distract me from the end goals and getting the standard of degree I'm capable of. All in all it's gonna be an interesting year.

So would getting a job in your first year be a good idea?
I'm not totally certain what to advise here. On the one hand, there are money matters and quite a few students simply couldn't survive without the extra money. On the other, if you start doing too much work, it could distract from your studies. I'd describe it as a necessary evil.

I was thinking of maybe leaving it for a few months, just to settle in first and enjoy myself for abit and then see what my money situations like.
    Absolutely.
I'd be bankrupt after one year if it wasn't for my job.

Dont leave it too long though or they'll be nowt.

Lies. It's uphill til it peaks at Freshers, then it's gradually downhill til it plummets at the first deadline. Whatever 'it' is.

Today I got a letter confirming that I haven't requested a room in halls.

    I have.

I did not get excited by this.

I had a gay letter come through today as well. About my student finance ... they won't let me put under a gap year student meaning i have to pay the more expensive fees. Cunts.

Don't remind me. I'm going for a haircut tomorrow or Tuesday, and then gotta take pictures afterwards to send off for both my student card and Young Persons Railcard. Surely I can't keep up this blatant cynicism forever...

It's a widely-accepted law that nearly everyone looks like a total lemon in any picture that is passport-sized. I, for instance, on my provisional drivers licence, look like I've just murdered 500 people.

Give it a few weeks, everyone in your flat at halls will probably be looking at each other's cards and laughing in unison.

So glad I'm not the only who looks terrible in passport photos...

The rules on how you can look in a passport photo, such as not being allowed to smile, having to have a white background and others, mean that one only has limited scope to look their normal sexy selves. Or so I was told by the passport office.

Bricking it. I'm so shy I doubt I'll make any friends. I'm staying at home so don't have the social advantage of living in halls. Plus I've just about forgotten the basics of my course that I learned in Secondary :| I also need to cope with the fact that I haven't saved up that much money

Apart from that I'm fine.

I'm not that bad. I always think that before a new situation and then I end up getting along with everyone.

go into it with a smile and your head up. even if you're not confident; try to act it. that'll mean you're more approachable and this will mean you'll find you have more friends thus increasing your confidence.
