At 16, you should have pulled your foreskin back by now. You need to clean under it when you bathe every day otherwise you get a buildup of smegma underneath (smegma - often called 'cocksheese' - keeps the glans moist. However, if allowed to accumulate and decay under the foreskin, it can combine with shed skin cells and bacteria that can cause irritations known as balanitis).

So, in my opinion, your condition may not be normal (but nothing to worry about - lots of people have this problem).

Can you pull it back when you are in the bath and your penis is not erect? If you can't, you may have a condition called phimosis.

In the most drastic circumstances, a partial or full ircumcision may be required but you can try some stretching techniques before you even contemplate going down this route.

Use baby oil, Vaseline intensive care hand and body lotion, Nivea or any bland cream as a lubricant. Pull the foreskin forward away from the body several times then pull it back and hold it in the stretched position for several minutes twice daily. When the hole is large enough insert your thumb , or smaller finger if necessary, into the foreskin and grip the glans ( the head of the penis) between finger and thumb. Roll the foreskin over the thumb until the tight ring is white with stretching. Hold it in this position as long as you can at a time - say 5 minutes. . Repeat as often as you have the time and enthusiasm for. If later you find there is room for two or more fingers then use them.
If time permits even better results may be possible if you soak your penis in warm water for some minutes before you start to stretch.

Steroid creams should be used next if no significant progress has been made after a month. It is a prescription only medicine which means you will have to ask your doctor for a prescription. The cream should be massaged into the tight part of the foreskin inside and outside 2-3 times a day for at least a month combined with further stretching.

Take care to avoid premature retraction beyond the corona of the glans to avoid paraphimosis (where the foreskin gets stuck behind the glans of your penis.

Ideally, you want to reach a stage where the head of your penis is exposed when your penis is erect and the foreskin is able to glide back and forth over the top of the glans during masturbation, intercourse etc.

I dont hink he is, if he was a foreskin doctor he would have warned about the dangers of inserting strange objects such as atomic fireballs, skittles and a mars bar into the center.

by the way, one of which I did do with the aid of an ex... :naughty:

No, the frenulum only breaks if you stretch back too far and too hard. You can also do frenulum stretches, and you stretch the foreskin outwards to allow it to slide over the head, rather than just yanking it back until it does

not seeming dumb here, havent read all the posts but do you think he may be circumsized, as if he has never pulled it back it may be a bit what shall I say, Unclean!!

If he is circumcised, then he has no foreskin. I got all the way to 19 without knowing that the foreskin should retract over the head - education on this matter should be improved, IMO.

To the OP - if you have any questions you don't feel comfortable asking in public, then drop me a PM. Failing that, then there is nothing wrong with discussing it with your doctor. They'll have seen it all before, and are only there to help :).

Actually, no. The whole purpose of smegma is to clean and it is expelled via masturbation and intercourse. It can be a build up, but it's more a stigma and inaccurate knowledge of what it is that causes people to gross out. I didn't know my foreskin was meant to retract until i was 17, and i had no nasty smell or build up when i managed to pull it back
