I'm going camping for a week with my boyfriend and wondered what I should take, well more like what things would be useful that you wouldn't think of taking.

Tent
airbed + pump (or bedroll)
sleeping bag
bin bags
camping stove, fuel, billycans, plate, fork etc
water + refillable container
food
lighter/matches
scissors
torch
camping chair
groundsheet
warm clothes, raincoat, hat
Where are you off to?
String and/or thin rope (for hanging clothes up, etc)
Duct tape (for tent repairs!)
These mostly apply if you'll be walking while you're there, but can still be useful:
Small food bags (sealable if possible, otherwise with ties)
Survival bags (if you'll be in the wilderness!)
OS map of the surrounding area
Compass
Newspaper (good for stuffing into your boots if they get wet)
I might add to this once I've had a think!
A good idea if you will be walking and the weather might be rainy, is to put everything that is not waterproof (esp. clothes, paper and food) into separate plastic bags, bins bags or sandwich bags, depending on the size of the items. Also make sure to line your bergen with a bin liner too. Not only are dry clothes essential, they are also much lighter than wet ones!
If you will be using matches instead of a lighter, dip the coloured ends in wax from a candle before you pack them - this will keep them usable if they get wet.
If you are driving, weight isn't a problem, but if you're travelling on foot, try to minimise it as much as possible - everything adds up!
I think KHSS and wooooooooah have got pretty much everything else covered though, have fun!
 Apparantely in Ten Tors they pee in bags and carry it around:yuck:
we were classy and my ex used one of those huuuge bottles of mineral water and i used a cup.
also take flip-flops or something to wear in the showers.
That's very nice!:p
Alcohol.
Bong and weed.
Tent.
Food for barbie.
i found it harder to go outside of the tent and do it, was more self conscious! we were in a really big 12 man tent (or something equally big) that had 2 seperate compartments but we only put 1 up and had the other as a living area so just did it there.
clothes
sleeping bag (awful without one)
water
meat
something to cook meat in
swiss army 459743257 tool penknife
axe and/or saw
lighter
flammable liquid if you are lazy or aren't very good at building fuck off big fires
alcohol
drugs
guns
Corkscrew/bottle opener for the booze.
That's my essential camping equipment list, but I doubt if the first item will be much use to you.
