    That's cool, I didn't realise there was a Romany language. Is it similar to any other languages? eg Gaelic ones or Latin or anything?

    I don't think it's indo european so no.
    Romany people originated in India I think.

    Words like Cushti, Mush, Chavy and Charver are Romany words.

    I can speak some french - general GCSE stuff and can get along with the Greek locals using some Greek words...:hyper:

    Dunno if this counts as a language, but I can read phonological and phonetic transcriptions.

    I studied Spanish for 6yrs but forgotten most of it. i can read it though and ge the jist of what it means.
    Studied Chinese Mandarin in school to but i know nothing of it now.

    I can understand a very little bit of Welsh, but thats only really through road signs!!!

    I did German GCSE, so I know basic German. Did French for a few years but pretty much forgotten most of it.

    I can speak english (Baaaadly :P) and I'm learning Spanish. I can also tell you I'm a window in german, and count to ten and tell you that there's a spider in the oven in Indonesian.

    Obviously fluent English, pretty much fluent in German, competent at French and can get by with my Dutch and Sign Language.

    Next I want to try my hand at Irish, and Romansch :)

    Haha - i can do the alphabet and say Smooth, Butter, Bread, Girl, Boy, Thankyou, I remember you and I love you. But not much else. :p

    Something I've always wanted: How do you say names in sign language? Surely each name can't have a specific sign. But it you see it one letter at a time, then it would take too long...

    Yeah - You have to spell them.. as far as i know.

    Yeah i think so. I asked someone who knows a bit more than me - it's called finger spelling and is only used for People and Place names

    but deaf people usually have individual signs for family members names that they make up, but they would spell out a name for someone who didnt know them or who the sign meant.

    my name in sign language is the sign for birth and God put together (since in English my name means birth of our lord.)

    i speak: English, French, Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, and i can understand italian, and get the gist of a convo in portugese.

    I wish I had the time to learn some more. I really need to brush up on German too.
