pc tv card problem

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
i have a digital tv card in my pc, but it stalls all the time. its really annoying because it means i cannot watch any tv. i mean it stalls every few seconds. its not using up too much RAM nor is the signal screwed up, because the ariel cable works fine with an ordinary tv. does anyone know what could be wrong with it?
cheers.

if you got windows Xp then press control ALT DEL and you can see what program is using all the CPU's power - that might be it,

or IRQ problem or hard drives not set to DMA mode

^you do it in the BIOS. But you've got a mac, so these suggestions probably won't help...

Or are you actually using a PC now?

    You bloody edited that! Sod!

USB 1.1 or 2? If the tuner works correctly on other machines, then maybe you need more bandwidth than 1.1 supports?

Is it plugged in straight to the ports on the PC, or are you going through some kind of hub or external splitter?

Come on, you're techie enough to know this :P.

My guess, it's possible that it's not getting enough power.
