i wrote this poem a couple of months ago. to prove so much i know the meaning of love. my love.

How does a poet love?
And what does love mean to him?
Surely for a man of words, you'd expect a lot of things
But what if he tells you,
"Love is truly love." Would you know what that means?
I called upon the messenger of gods, Mercury, and asked him
to send message to the goddess of love and beauty
In the hope that i might find an answer
for the heart that is weary
Venus took a glimpse from the heavens;
saw me alone and sad.
Then she sent for her son, Cupid
so that his arrow may pierce through me
A heart's that's been so empty.
One night i was sitting pondering away
while the moon was there to stay
A spark of inspiration soared through me
With such excitement i came to say,
"Behold i stare upon the most prettiest thing in the world."
This feeling i cannot contain, i must know thy name.
My eyes followed in vain; but delighted all the same.
So if one day you come across a poet
and dared ask him a comment
Would you be curious to know
A piece of writing in his pocket
his for you to show...

Not that I'm a critic or anything.
That love is a drug perhaps? Represented by cupids arrow?
Or is this just a pradoxical poem? The fact that we are told the poet has something curious in his pocket, which could be "love", but truns about to be this very poem, therefore the user is entangled in a continious spiral of deception.
