I am 16 and am really shy, I haven't even been out with anybody before. Theres this girl that I really like in my year, I have fancied her loads for about 6 months. Anyway, today I finally built up the courage to phone her and ask her out but she tells me "sorry" but she already has a boyfriend. A bit silly of me for not finding out maybe.

But now I feel like a complete fool and I'm really upset and depressed. My confidence has gone completely. And when we go back to school after easter everyone will rip the piss because this girl is disliked by almost everyone. And to be rejected by her is even worse.

    Well if people do take the piss then try your hardest to appear as if it doesn't bother you. Don't deny you asked her out, but if you answer'yeh, and?....' back at them they'll be like oh!

    I'll second that. Be confidnet within yourself and congratulate yourself for having the courage. Don't let anyone drag u down and just think that next time maybe it won't be so hard, cos you've broken the dam as it were

    but now, I really regret asking her. She going to treat me differently at school. I dont know what to say to her when I next see her!
