I could get some stick for saying this, but here goes. No matter what you think of Margaret Thatcher's politics and policies, she was a woman who got the job done. Which is far more than Tony Blair will ever manage. I would rather she got a state funeral than our current PM.

Isn't Margaret Thatcher Britains greatest Prime Minister since Winston Churchill. Many think she is and I believe they're right.

The country was on its knees when Thatcher took over. Labour had made a huge mess in the mid-1970s. Dead people not being buried, millions of days lost to strike action by unions who thought they ran the country... the Winter of Discontent, anyone? Thatcher had the guts to enact huge reforms. Blair, meantime, can't even get a pathetically modest education bill through Parliament without watering it down to the point of uselessness.

Moroccan Roll will now come along, no doubt, and start lecturing me about how I apparently know nothing about the period, how the sun shines out of Blair's arse, and the usual crap about how brilliant New Labour is...

Yes we do. Though I'd imagine they have far larger number of lawns to take care of in Chalfont St. Peters.

Yes we have, manicured like a golf green, and you know what I use my sprinkler on it every day! Well you've got to haven't you, must let it turn brown!
Oh and by the way allow me to correct you, its Chalfont St Peter not St Peters - attention to detail is so important don't you think.
Must rush I've got to hose down the beemer, its got very dusty.

Translated as: "can't be long before the mods find me out and ban me again."

You should go out and spend time outdoors, read a book in the park, meet a girl... instead of making a few short-lived contributions knowing what's going to happen.

Each to their own I guess...

Just to point out that there are more empty council houses than there are homeless people.

They're not in places where people want to live though, so their existence gets denied.
