    What I love is that if you dare moan about the world cup some one will, without fail respond with "big brother, soaps, talk shows, yadda yadda". Complain about big brother and you get "ooooh football, rugby blah blah".

    I HATE ALL OF IT.

    The basic four channels are a private glimpse into hell. If it's not the world cup, it's big brother. If it's not BB, it's the olympics......I'm a celebrity....then wimbledon.....then celebrity this that or the other....then the snooker....then Corrie.......

    I'm just going to roll up into a little ball and cry softly until television finally eats itself.

    I agree there too. But at least there are no big-brother hooligans, trashing places because their favourite person didn't win, nor is there anyone who'd honk and celebrate when their favourite player does win.

    I don't care what the appeal is, because I'm simply not interested.

    But I'll say once more that, no matter what the appeal, it's a game. Be happy your team won, but unless you are in it or personally know someone in it I see no reason to celebrate like your life was spared.
