oooh get you smarty pants. ;) "Yeah, I did NO revision at all, I was out getting pissed every night, only got 7 A*s and 3 As, gutted". :p
I never said I did no revision! But I would drink a lot and go out partying a lot at that time. I was dead chuffed with my results!

but i'm only happy if i'm doing my best....yet i always feel i can improve
(some of you may remember my rant about a friend who left her history cw several months after the original deadline...then got other people to send copies of their work for her to 'look' at, and got full marks for it. I spent ages on it and, handed it in on the deadline and just scraped a B...she got an A*! gr, it still makes my blood boil!)

I'm the same as you - I worked my arse off and got all of my work in on time and got rubbish grades. However, being put into a class where the 'teacher' can't actually teach properly or can't control the class doesn't help...

Personally I found most past papers easier than the ones I did. I remember one year, the maths paper was stupidly easy; I got something like 39/50 which is a B. (And the highest grade possible)

    7 B's, 2 C's.

ETA - this is crazy. We only did 9 GCSE's at our school, in fact that was the norm for all my mates at different schools in my area too. But most of you have done 10+...

I spent all my time getting pissed and being a big mong... but my brain isn't a sponge-like as briggi's and my predicted A's didn't appear as expected!

3 x A's in Maths and double science
3 x B's in Food Tech, english Lit and english Lang
    2 x C's in R.S and Spanish
    1 x D in Drama (hahaha)

I found that no-one really bothers about my GSCE/AS/A level results any more although I did need them to get on my first NVQ course. I have 'dropped' my D grades off my C.V as well. Futher employers are only really interested my proffessional qualifications. Most people only did 9 GCSEs at my school. I've gone mad this year at college, Ionly had to do three exams but I choose to do Business tax as well as costing, budgeting and personal tax. God knows if I'll pass costing though. Variances are fucking evil.

    I didn't do GCSEs. I did Standard Grades. I got 3 x 1s, 4 x 2s and one 3.
    I too did Standard Grades

    I got a 1, four 2's, two 3's and a 4

I was really pissed off about only getting one one I was so close to getting two but my coursework slipped because i didn't put in enough effort and I got a 4 in Craft and Design because my teacher broke my project a week before it was to be handed in.

Oh yeah, and as someone said earlier. Just because they might not mean much later, right now they are important and here in Scotland you can't do Higher Level subjects unless you get good Standard Grade results.

I'm in the middle of mine. I've done No revision at all... but the exams I've done so far have been fairly easy. Just hope I pass them :p History is on Friday. So much god damn stuff to remember. Eek! I'm predicted a B in it, and I have my A graded coursework to fall back on.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru

    I got 4 A's, 7 B's and 1 C.

Not bad since they predicted me D's and E's (talk about putting faith in my ability eh?)
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I didn't do very well to be honest. I got 1 A*, 2 B's and 8 C's. Not bad considering what I was going through at the time but I was capable of doing much better.

    I got 1 B 6 Cs 1 D and 2 Es.
Not bad though considering I have just finished a Law degree...goes to show they're not as important as the teachers ram down your neck after all! :p
