What are your favourite goals?

Pretty much all of mine are from the same footballer, and I was lucky enough to see a large number of them from the stand as a kid.

I'd have to say Ryan Giggs vs Arsenal is one of my top goals. Legend.

Tony Yeboah - either against Liverpool or Wimbledon

Both great goals, either could have got goal of the season for it.

Chris Waddle for City against Everton at Goodison, FA Cup 4th round, February 1997.

Just the 45-yard lob over Southall, at the Gwladys Street end, in a 3-2 win for us :hyper:

My second favourite goal, of course, was Rob Steiner doing a 30-yard screamer in the same game at the same end

I'm always still amazed by Clarence Seedorfs bullet goal he scored from like 40 yards when he was at Real Madrid. Will get a link when i can be arsed. Amazing.

Youtube has loads of goal compelations.

Le tis is a legend and has never really got the recognition he deserved.

One of my favourites is this.

It even beat beckham's lob for goal of the season if memory serves me correct.

You won't find many better goals than those. He never scored ordinary goals.

That goal stopped Waddle getting the credit he deserved

You mean apart from the obvious 1970 WC Final goal? Or Maradona's against Belgium & England in 1986? Baggio's in 1990 vs Czechoslovakia? The Zidane volley in the Champions League final...?

And that's without the Cantona/Gascoigne/Le Tissier portfolios

It may not be the best goal ever scored but the celebration certainly is. If I ever score a goal, this is how i want to celebrate...

I like football when it is in the context of a game and involving teams that I like but I just dont see the pleasure in watching random goals out of context.

Would someone like to enlighten me?

I dont take any pleasure in cooking unless it is to be thrown in the face of a bigot afterwards

No but seriously I kind of get it, I like to watch the 'showboat' bit on soccer am but not that much, this top goals thing isn't even exciting because you know there is going to be a goal at the end of it.

I dunno what it is. Well there just not any old goal. Some of them are just really nice to watch. The way they were created or just the way the player finished. Dunno why. Just nice to watch :D

Regardless of what he had infamously done earlier in the game, this has to count as one of the greatest ever goals in history:

simple answer really the best goal ever is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrSW0t712K4&search=carlos%20alberto
quality is not that good but it is the perfect goal. it all starts when Clodoaldo takes it around 4 players. That team would even now wipe the floor with most teams these days.

I'd like to add Paul Scholes' 30-yard volley against Bradford City at Valley Parade. Beckham dropped a pin-point corner right onto his foot and the keeper couldn't even move. One of the best goals I have ever seen.
