I've only heard bad things about NME magazine and it looks pretty mainstream from first glance, but please verfiy that most English youth don't share this opinion. I can't think of one Beatles album that even comes close to being topped by Oasis. Hear is the list of best albums as voted for on the magazine.

No Dylan is a travesty, but I wouldn't expect anything else.
I don't know about Definitely Maybe being the best album ever, but it should be in any list really. It is quality from start to finish, and that quality cannot be argued about.
Definately Maybe is a top albulm but nowhere near the best. You can't put obscure albulms anyway on any top 10 list, it doesn't satisfy target audience.
I saw Oasis Last fall in Austin, TX and they kind of sucked. They still rely on those 2 hits they had to get a rise out of the crowd and attracted half the audience and enthusiasm that Bloc Party did who played before them. We have tons of shitty taste and crappy rock magazines in the States, but I don't think they would top any list over here. Beatles helped define pop music and although they may not have been the best technical musicians, they were great song writers.

Definately Maybe is a absolute awesome album however, we've had it on in the office recently a bit and its still as good as when i first heard it back in the day.

I'm sorry, but I just don't think Oasis has written some of the greatest music ever. Maybe they do and their egos have gotten to peoples heads over there but off the top of my head I can name quite a few albums that Definately Maybe is not even in the same leauge as:
Beatles-White Album and about 7 other Beatles albums
Beach Boys-Pet Sounds
Brian Wilson-Smile
Radio Head-OK Computer
Jimi Hendrix-Are you experienced
Michael Jackson-Thriller
James Brown-Whatever the fuck his best songs are on.
Bob Marley-to many to name
Led Zepplin-about their whole discography
Floyd-I'm a big fan of Piper at the Gates of dawn, but almost anything before Division Bell or MLOR
Prince-Purple Rain
Fleetwood Mac-Rumours
Bob Dylan-to many to name
The Doors.
The Orb-Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld
won't even go into Punk or anything crazy obscure shit I like
My Bloody Valentine-Loveless.
Definately Maybe is a great albulm, any albulm would be proud to have a live forever on it nevermind the rest.
In answer to the original question I love oasis and def maybe would be in the top 5 I don't rate whats the story in the same class infact all the oasis albums most people hate I tend to love. Be here now for example.
my list would have the stone roses top also, shows how in touch to our culture the americans are, they prefer the second coming to the stone roses first album. enough said.

To be honest, if anyone's dumb enough to actually listen to what the NME says, they should be prepared for shite like this. I suppose no-one at the NME offices is actually smart enough to realise that virtually every Oasis song ever is a rehashed Beatles one. Can anyone remember the last edition of the NME where they didn't declare a new band the saviours of rock and roll? Anyone remember Starsailor? The NME declared that they were destined for immortality. Spouting continuous bullshit kinda wrecks your credibility don't you agree?
I remember a while ago, they held a competition where you had to pick your dream band line-up (singer, bassist, guitarist and drummer) and under the drummers section, Meg White was listed as one of the options!!! People at the NME clearly know fuck all about music.

The problem is there has been so many good albums its impossible to get just 10.
Yeah I guess it's hard. But personally I prefer to potentially annoy people by my choices and make choices that I actually believe in when it comes to things like this than regurgatating the same old crap that everyone has done before. I like to kickstart a little debate from now and then by not being obsequious.
For the record, I don't rate Sgt. Pepper that highly. I don't rate Oasis at all. I find Nirvana and the Smiths the most overrated bands of all time. So
